About Us

As a new Brixham-based operator, we are delighted to announce the launch of our recently re-branded wildlife and coastal tour vessel, the Porpoise Princess. This much-loved local icon (formerly the Torbay Clipper) has recently commenced service after re-branding with a new eye-catching livery of blue, red and yellow, and commenced wildlife and pleasure cruise excursions out of Brixham. In addition, the vessel offers day trips to Exmouth and Teignmouth (in addition to her usual Torquay and Brixham Sea-Fari route), and delicious Fish n’ Chip Supper Cruises (with food provided by a trusted Brixham outlet).

Well-known in the local community, our Director, Kim (assisted by highly experienced Head of Marine Operations John Ford and crew) is delighted to be utilising experience gained in her previous role with Funfish Trips in this new venture. Kim and her team have received the excellent (and highly appreciated) backing of numerous local traders and suppliers, and wish to extend their sincere thanks to all, including the Maritime & Coastguard Agency and Torbay Council, for the ongoing support – with a special business event currently being planned to thank all those involved.

Porpoise Princess, Sea Spray III and FunFish make up Go Boat Trips’ wildlife and pleasure cruise fleet operating around the South Devon coastline – including Berry Head – where abundant local wildlife can be seen, including pods of dolphins and porpoise, seals and numerous seabirds. Tuna have also recently returned to the area, and there has even been a couple of rare sightings of humpback whales in Lyme Bay over recent years!

Skippered by Head of Marine Operations John Ford (who brings years of experience on the coastal waters around Brixham with both commercial and leisure craft) Porpoise Princess and the fleet sees the return of much-loved brightly-painted vessels criss-crossing the Bay, taking friends and families to enjoy wildlife cruises, private-hire parties, receptions and celebrations.

John and the crews’ knowledge of the local coastline and wildlife is unsurpassed, and the vessels are extremely well-maintained and fully equipped for safety on the water, with well-trained personnel.

About our vessels

Porpoise Princess – Built in 1973, she is a traditional purpose built passenger vessel with excellent sea keeping capabilities. Licensed for 100 passengers, she provides an excellent platform for the array of trips that we provide. She has a selection of inside and outside seating with roll up side covers making her a great choice for all kinds of weather.

Funfish – Our smaller vessel, a classic angling boat built in 1966 with a capacity for 12 passengers, serves as our primary platform for traditional mackerel fishing trips.

Sea Spray III – Joining the fleet this year will be the purpose built, high speed Lochin 33 angling vessel which will be providing another great platform for coastal fishing trips and special private hires.
